I am currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Foreign Studies at Reitaku University in Chiba Prefecture, where I am responsible for teaching English and digital communication.
My research applies principles from learning sciences and cognitive sciences to design learning experiences using emerging technologies, and explores the competencies and skills to be developed through these new technologies.
Before joining Reitaku University, I worked at Benesse Corporation, where I was involved in the planning and design of digital learning materials, the development of programming education resources, teacher training, and the creation of a framework for assessing the competencies cultivated through programming education. I also served as the Japan Engagement Advisor for the Global Partnership for Education, , an international fund dedicated to addressing educational challenges, established under the leadership of the World Bank. In this role, I promoted partnerships in Japan to support education in developing countries.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time in nature-rich areas, hiking and jogging. I am also a coffee enthusiast and subscribe to a regular coffee bean delivery service. I savor each cup while reading the stories behind the beans’ origins, imagining the countries and producers from which they come.
